Now we’re looking for a HIL Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of test environments for our clients.
About the role
This position is an internal role, where you will take the lead in developing and driving Quokka’s HIL capabilities forward. You’ll be the one shaping our approach, building structures, and supporting both colleagues and customers with your expertise.
To succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable communicating in both Swedish and English, as you’ll collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Who we’re looking for
You have experience designing, developing, or maintaining Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop systems, and you enjoy working hands‑on with both hardware and software. You’re comfortable meeting customers, understanding their needs, and turning those needs into smart, reliable HIL solutions.
You like being the person who connects the dots — between requirements, architecture, test needs, and real‑world system behavior.
We think you’ll thrive if you have experience with:
- Designing or developing HIL systems (dSPACE, Vector, NI, or similar)
- Hardware integration, signal interfaces, I/O, and test rigs
- Test automation or scripting (Python, CAPL, or similar)
- Reading and understanding embedded software behavior
- Debugging, troubleshooting, and system‑level thinking
- Communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART
Bonus points for experience with:
- Customer‑facing roles or technical coordination
- Automotive or safety‑critical systems
- Requirements handling and traceability
- Continuous integration or test automation pipelines
And if you enjoy explaining complex things in a simple way — both to customers and colleagues — you’ll fit right in.
A valid driver’s license (B) is also required, as some customer visits and on‑site work will be part of the role.
Your role
As a HIL Designer at Quokka, you will:
- Work closely with customers to understand their systems and test needs
- Design and develop HIL solutions that support reliable, efficient testing
- Integrate hardware, software, and tools into complete test environments
- Troubleshoot issues and guide teams toward root causes
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and system engineers
- Help shape long‑term test strategies and improvements
