About the Assignment

You will join a team driving a transformation from a traditional managed service setup to a cloud-native operating model on Azure, with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices at the core. In this senior, hands-on role, you will help establish shared platform capabilities that enable product teams to move fast while staying compliant in a regulated environment.

• Own and evolve Azure landing zones, including policies, governance, security baselines, and cost controls in collaboration with a cloud shared services function
• Build and maintain foundational shared infrastructure such as centralized logging, backup policies, Azure Defender, and Microsoft Purview
• Develop reusable Bicep modules and patterns for product teams to consume
• Create and maintain CI/CD templates and “golden paths” that standardize and simplify delivery
• Act as a maintainer in an inner source model by setting standards and reviewing contributions across the organization
• Collaborate closely with SRE on reliability, observability, and incident learnings
• Balance standardization with team autonomy through pragmatic technical decisions
• Enable self-service tooling and an excellent developer experience with a strong focus on automation and compliance

• Senior experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, or a similar role
• Experience leading or owning a platform, landing zone, or cloud foundation
• Strong hands-on Azure infrastructure experience
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Bicep
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of policy-as-code, Azure Policy, and governance at scale
• Familiarity with Azure security tooling such as Defender, Purview, Key Vault, and Managed Identities
• Ability to write clear documentation and communicate technical decisions to different audiences
• Familiarity with the Azure Well-Architected Framework in an enterprise hybrid environment
• Experience with Azure PaaS services such as Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Hub, Log Analytics, and Azure AI Foundry
• Experience with at least one programming language used for automation

• Understanding of SRE practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and incident management
• Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization
• Experience working in regulated industries such as insurance or finance
