About the Opportunity

Are you a data-driven leader with a passion for building strong data management foundations for AI? We are seeking an experienced Data Operating Model Architect to lead evolution Ericsson’s Data Operating Model that will help accelerate AI and strengthen our security posture.

This model will be adopted across the organization and will guide Business Areas, Market Areas, and Group Functions in making data ready for value creation — while ensuring it remains secure and compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.

In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to shape Ericsson’s data strategy and drive the development of critical data capabilities across the enterprise. You will be joining Data & Information Management team.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the design and evolution of Ericsson’s enterprise-wide Data Operating Model, defining how data is governed, managed, and leveraged across all business areas, market areas, and group functions.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align the Ericsson Data Operating Model with business strategy, ensuring data practices support value creation and innovation.
  • Define and standardize key components of the model, including roles and responsibilities, processes, policies, and capabilities required for effective data management such as Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Semantics, Ontology, Information Security, Lifecycle Management.
  • Evolve frameworks and principles for data ownership, stewardship, and accountability to ensure data quality, compliance, and security through data governance.
  • Partner with Data, IT, and Business teams to embed the operating model into existing ways of working and drive adoption across the organization.
  • Assess and prioritize capability gaps, guiding the development of new tools, competencies, and governance structures needed to mature Ericsson’s data ecosystem.
  • Promote a data-driven culture by enabling consistent, compliant, and value-focused use of data across the enterprise.
The Skills You Bring
  • Extensive experience in data management and strategy, ideally in large, complex, or global organizations.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data management and operating model design, including frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, or similar.
  • Proven ability to translate business goals into data capabilities and operating principles that enable value creation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience collaborating across business, IT, and compliance functions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data security, privacy, and ethical data use (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001 standards).
  • Strategic and conceptual thinking skills, combined with the ability to drive execution and adoption at scale.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading organizational change related to data transformation or operating model implementation is a strong plus.
  • A passion for data-driven decision making, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of data excellence.
