R&D group Manager
About the position
OctoFrost is looking for an R&D Group Manager to play a key role in a global growth journey.

As R&D Group Manager, you will ensure that technical solutions, product platforms and design standards are used and developed to meet present and future demands. A critical success factor will be balancing requests from Sales and customers with platform thinking and standardization.The role is based in Malmö, reporting directly to the CEO, and you will be part of the management team.
You will lead a team of 12 engineers located in Malmö and at OctoFrost’s two sites in the Netherlands, which you will visit regularly. The role also includes customer and supplier visits.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop OctoFrost’s product development process
- Own and enforce OctoFrost’s design policy, ensuring consistent quality and technical standards
- Analyze and map OctoFrost’s product portfolio and drive needed changes
- Be the main receiver of ideas and requirements from Sales and After Sales
- Initiate and lead platform and modularization initiatives
- Coordinate and follow up on development projects across teams and regions
- Support engineering and operational tasks related to customer orders
- Manage, coach, and develop your team
- Be responsible for the R&D department budget
Your profile
You are experienced in design of advanced industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and you have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent. Experience in food technology and equipment for food processing is desirable.Furthermore, you are a strong leader preferably experienced in matrix organizations. You are fluent in English.
As a person you are driven, analytical and business-oriented with the ability of translating customer needs into technical solutions and business results. You take initiative, deliver on commitments, and move projects forward. As a leader, you are clear and demanding while being supportive and encouraging, and you are good at collaborating.
