Valneva is looking for a hands-on Engineer to join our Engineering team in Solna. You’ll keep our facilities running smoothly and efficiently overseeing media, energy, and HVAC systems—while ensuring we meet all regulatory standards. You’ll take the lead on both preventive and corrective maintenance, drive quality assurance, streamline technical documentation, and champion continuous improvement.If you thrive in cross-functional projects and are passionate about operational excellence, you’ll fit right in with our values of Integrity, Agility, and Results.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and emergency maintenance for all technical systems (media, energy, HVAC).
- Lead and support cross-functional teams in technical projects and maintenance activities.
- Act as technical expert for HVAC systems, including design, installation, commissioning, validation, and operation.
- Issue permits for hot work and review/approve logbooks and calibration certificates.
- Coordinate internal and external maintenance and quality activities.
- Advise and support other departments on technical and quality issues (maintenance, HVAC, cleanroom requirements, etc.).
- Plan and manage service stops (seasonal).
- Prepare resources and materials for maintenance and quality activities.
- Lead meetings and produce statistics on maintenance and quality performance.
- Register/deregister equipment and maintain documentation.
- Manage deviations, investigations, change control, CAPA, and risk assessments.
- Propose and drive improvements, escalate risks, and ensure compliance with GxP and industry standards.
- Train employees on new or updated routines and technical requirements.
- Transfer knowledge about cleanrooms, controls, and technical systems to the team.
- Periodically review and update department documents and systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial), Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences), or related field with a technical focus.
- Strong technical knowledge of media systems (e.g., Water for Injection, pure steam, compressed air, HVAC).
- Proficiency in developing and managing technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Excel).
- Knowledge of GMP, GxP, and regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and Swedish both written and spoken.
