The Institute of Health and Care Sciences conducts education and research with a focus on care, health and human living conditions. We educate nurses, radiographers, specialist nurses and midwives, with the aim of meeting society’s need for competent and committed healthcare professionals.The institute also offers doctoral education in nursing science. The institute is part of Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg and is located at Campus Medicinareberget, in close proximity to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. It is an environment characterised by interprofessional collaboration, clinical relevance and high academic quality.
The position is primarily based within the Section for Diagnostics and Care in Acute and Critical Conditions, which includes the specialist nursing programmes in anaesthesia care, intensive care, surgical care and operating theatre nursing. The radiography programme and the midwifery programme are also part of this section.

Subject area description
Radiography is grounded in a humanistic perspective and focuses on understanding the individual patient's situation, as well as how different imaging techniques are used for diagnosis, implementation and follow-up of radiological treatments.Radiography is a core discipline in which the radiographer establishes and maintains a caring relationship within a high-tech healthcare environment.
Duties
The duties include planning and teaching, coordinating resources, ensuring coherence across courses, keeping up to date with current developments in the subject areas, and acting as course coordinator at both undergraduate and master’s level, primarily in courses that include nuclear medicine and PET.As course coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating learning outcomes, learning activities, examination formats and assessment
criteria in relation to course content, objectives and current educational research. The role also includes quality assurance of education through validated evaluation methods.
As part of the position, you will supervise and assess undergraduate theses and supervise theses at master’s level, as well as act as examiner for courses in radiography. Administrative tasks related to the educational activities form a significant part of the duties.The position also involves contributing to the development of the subject area and engaging in collaboration with the healthcare sector regarding clinical placements. Other duties may also be assigned, and the scope of the position may change over time.
Teaching will primarily take place within the radiography programme, but where necessary, duties may also involve collaboration with other sections of the department.
The position also includes active contribution to the department’s goals and operational plan, which involves developing the academic environment within the section’s Complete Academic Environment. In addition, all staff members are expected to participate in planned joint meetings and activities arranged by the department.
The successful candidate is expected to teach in both Swedish and English.
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria for teaching positions are outlined in the University of Gothenburg’s Appointment Procedures.
A completed higher education degree at least at the second-cycle (Master’s) level in radiography or an equivalent qualification, or other documented expertise of relevance to the subject area and the duties of the position. Demonstrated teaching proficiency and a degree in radiography are required, as well as Swedish certification as a radiographer.
Proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, is required.
